The first premises & first vehicles at 27 Rodney Way

From 1984, the company’s owner and Managing Director Gary Bude, was a self-employed tiler, working for Wall & Floor tiling contractors in the South East of England. Gary learnt his trade over the subsequent 13 years, starting out as a labourer and improver, and gaining the knowledge and experience to become a skilled and respected fixer.

In 1998 Gary decided that it was time to hang up his tools and Elite Tiling Limited was formed. Initially working from an office at home, Gary soon established Elite Tiling as a reliable & responsive subcontractor, carrying out quality installations around London and the South east of England. Very quickly, regular clients became established, including many UK top 100 main contractors. This enabled Elite Tiling as a young company, to develop and grow at a rapid rate and to take on larger and more ambitious contracts. Very soon, the need to move to a more suitable office space with a warehouse facility and in 2001 the company moved to a new 1139 sq.ft rented unit at 27 Rodney Way in Widford, Chelmsford.

For the next 6-7 years, Elite Tiling grew from strength to strength, recruiting skilled office and operations staff to allow continued growth of the business and establishing a loyal workforce of skilled, experienced fixers, most of whom are still with the company today. During this period, many different types of contracts were successfully completed in many different industry sectors. At the same time, a vast experience of working with many differing materials such as glass and natural stone, porcelain and ceramics, mosaics and large format was established providing a Elite Tiling with a strong, versatile portfolio of completed works.

In 2007, having outgrown the unit at Rodney Way, the company looked to move to a bigger premises and invested in a brand new 2515 sq.ft purpose built office and warehouse facility at our current address in Cromar Way, Chelmsford. This enabled the company to continue its growth and plan for the future and offered the additional space to allow us to recruit the additional staff required to achieve this.

Today, the company continues to grow, announcing a record year in 2017 of £3.3m turnover. Having recently achieved both CHAS and Gold Constructionline accreditations, Elite Tiling Ltd continues to strive to improve and provide an even better service to every client that we work with.
